Right here in America, there are more than 100,000 children lingering in foster care – waiting to be adopted; waiting for their forever families. Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas was adopted. He said, “These children are not someone else’s responsibility, they are our responsibility.”

He created the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to assure every child could live in a loving and permanent home.

As of April 2013, the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program has served more than 9,949 children – successfully finalizing the adoption of 3,467. This is a direct result of the aggressive and successful work of the 169 Wendy's Wonderful Kids recruiters in the US and Canada. The program is making tremendous progress to find permanent homes and loving families for the children waiting to be adopted in foster care.
